BYPASS PADLOCKS WITHOUT PICKING THEM
Padlock shims are a quick way to open a padlock without attacking the pins. They are bypass tools, not picks, and work by disrupting the latching mechanism in the lock.
To use, slip the shim between the hasp and body and twist (see picture at left). For double latching padlocks, use a shim on each side of the hasp.
Our MTL Padlock Shim Set is made from high-quality spring steel and comes with 2 different sizes (for large and small locks). Each shim has rubber handles for extra grip.
***Padlock shims work best on low and medium security padlocks. High-security padlocks often do not have enough space between the hasp and body to insert a shim.
BUMP LOCKS OPEN QUICKLY AND EASILY
Lock pick guns or “snap guns” are designed to be an easy way to “bump” open a wide variety of pin and tumbler locks.
To use, insert the tension wrench and needle into the lock and squeeze the trigger to bump all of the pins upwards at once. Repeat until all pins catch on the shear line and the plug turns. Adjust the tension nut on the gun to change the force the needle applies to the pins if they will not catch.

Comb picks are a quick and easy way to open pin and tumbler locks. They eliminate the need to find the shear line on each pin by pushing the pin stacks completely out of the plug (allowing it to rotate freely). They are a great tool to have on-hand when speed is important.
To use, select the correct comb (based on pin count, spacing, and pin length) and insert it into the lock. Push the pins out of the plug and turn the pick like a key.
